# StreamTranslate: live translated subtitles for desktop and IRL streams > Live captions and translated subtitles in 65 caption languages. Capture browser audio, Moblin RTMP audio, or audio through the OBS plugin on a home or cloud receiver. Display captions with a Twitch Extension or Browser Source. ## Capture and display Desktop: use browser microphone or tab audio with Control, then add your Browser Source to OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Meld, XSplit, StreamElements or PRISM Desktop. IRL: Moblin sends a separate RTMP caption destination. The OBS audio plugin captures audio from a microphone or received stream on a home or cloud OBS server, including IRL Toolkit. Larix Broadcaster can send an audio-only RTMP connection alongside its video-and-audio Twitch connection. PRISM Mobile uses PRISM Plus multi-streaming with separate server URL and stream key fields, sending an additional audio/video feed for audio extraction. IRL Pro and TVU Go can use the OBS receiver route; see each guide for its requirements. MediaMTX can supply an OBS receiver or an appropriately configured RTMP output. The public caption ingest accepts RTMP, not native SRT or SRTLA. Receive those protocols in your own server or OBS first. The OBS plugin uses an authenticated audio connection, not RTMP. Cloud providers control server-side plugin installation. The Twitch Extension lets each viewer choose their language, timing and appearance. A Browser Source is composited into your video and uses the streamer’s chosen language and appearance. Caption delay applies to Twitch Extension viewers, not the Browser Source. Internal Moblin testing found 3–5 seconds a useful starting range. Internal Larix testing found 1–2 seconds is the sweet spot. Actual timing depends on the stream. Moblin’s extra RTMP destination can upload audio and video; StreamTranslate extracts the audio for captions. It does not forward the video to Twitch. The OBS audio plugin sends audio from the receiver. Both routes need internet access and available account hours. ## Plans The Free Plan includes 3 active hours per month and requires a card. No payment unless you choose to upgrade. Stream Pass costs $12 one-time. Starter is $14.99/month, Pro is $34.99/month, and Unlimited is $149/month. Platform access can prevent a public link from downloading; do not promise that every URL works.
