OWN3D + Live Subtitles
OWN3D makes streams look great.
StreamTranslate makes them understood.
OWN3D gives you some of the best-looking stream overlays and alerts available. What it doesn't give you is live captions, speech recognition, or real-time translation. StreamTranslate adds a subtitle layer that sits alongside your OWN3D overlays — no changes to your existing setup required.
No downloads. No API keys. Works with any browser source compatible software.
The Short Answer
StreamTranslate and OWN3D are both browser source layers in OBS or Streamlabs. They sit on separate layers and don't interfere. Keep your OWN3D overlay exactly as it is — add StreamTranslate's URL as an additional layer positioned in the lower third. Done.
ℹ What OWN3D Provides (and What It Doesn't)
OWN3D is an overlay and stream package marketplace. It provides animated overlays, alert boxes, panels, and stream packages that make your broadcast look professional. It is not a speech recognition or translation service. Live subtitles require a separate tool that integrates at the browser source level — which is exactly how StreamTranslate works.
How to Add Subtitles Alongside OWN3D Overlays
Setup — 60 seconds
- Go to streamtranslate.live and create your overlay. Choose language, translation, font, and position.
- Copy your unique overlay URL.
- In OBS or Streamlabs, add a new Browser Source layer. Paste your StreamTranslate URL. Set to 1920×1080.
- Position the StreamTranslate layer in your scene stack — typically above your OWN3D overlay layers so captions appear on top.
- Your existing OWN3D overlays are untouched. Go live — captions appear automatically.

Common Questions
Will StreamTranslate break my OWN3D overlay layout?
No. StreamTranslate is a transparent browser source layer. It only renders the subtitle text area — the rest of the frame is fully transparent. Your OWN3D overlays remain exactly as configured on their own layers below.
Can I position the subtitles so they don't overlap my OWN3D panels?
Yes. StreamTranslate's overlay position is configurable — you can set it to upper third, center, or lower third. You can also adjust the width and padding to work around specific OWN3D layout elements.
Does this work with OWN3D Pro?
Yes. OWN3D and OWN3D Pro overlays are browser sources, and StreamTranslate is a separate browser source. They are fully compatible regardless of which OWN3D tier you use.
What languages does StreamTranslate support?
30+ languages including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Arabic, Hindi, German, Italian, and more — all included in every plan with no API keys required.
