Clips privacy

Updated October 18, 2026. This explains the video-translation bot on X, in addition to our main privacy policy.

What we process

When you mention @StreamTranslate to request a translation, we receive the public request, post and account identifiers, the linked source video, and associated public metadata from X. We generate a transcript, translated captions and a subtitled video, and keep job records and operational logs.

Where it goes

Speech recognition and translation use locally hosted AI models on our processing machine. The completed video and reply are published on X. The public queue displays request links, selected language, status, timing and finished reply links; it does not display private operational logs or credentials. X and our website hosting providers process data needed to deliver these features.

Storage and deletion

Source clips, outputs and job records may be retained for troubleshooting and quality checks until cleanup. Retention is not guaranteed to expire automatically after a fixed period. For removal requests, contact [email protected] with the relevant post URL. Copies on X or held by other users are subject to their own controls.

Your choices

Only request translation of material you are entitled to use. Do not submit private or sensitive material. Reply @StreamTranslate STOP to opt out of future processing; this does not automatically delete earlier public replies. Automated translations can be inaccurate and do not replace the original recording.
