Meet StreamTranslate Studio

StreamTranslate Studio brings our streaming tools together at /studio. Start with live captions, find and reformat clips in ClipLab, add translated video subtitles, or translate written chat. You can choose one tool without setting up everything else, and free and paid access stays clearly labeled.

One place to find the right tool

StreamTranslate started with a straightforward problem: making spoken streams understandable in another language. The tools now cover more of what happens around a stream, including finding a recent clip, turning an existing video into a portrait MP4, subtitling a recording and following written chat.

Studio is the starting point for that collection. ClipLab is part of Studio, not a new name for the whole product. You still open the individual tool that matches your task. Studio is not a broadcasting encoder, multistream chat aggregator or an all-inclusive subscription.

While you stream: captions that fit your setup

Live translated captions turn selected speech into subtitles in 65 caption languages. Desktop streamers can use the Control microphone route or capture an OBS source with the audio plugin. IRL streamers can follow the supported phone, RTMP or home/cloud OBS workflow for their equipment.

A Browser Source puts captions into the broadcast picture. The official Twitch caption extension works differently: the broadcaster enables it and supplies a caption session, then viewers choose their own caption language in the Twitch player. An installation alone does not start captioning. The Studio guide explains which route to choose.

After a stream: clips, portrait video and subtitles

ClipLab brings the Twitch clip tracker, portrait video downloader and video translation entry point together. The tracker lists a channel's newest available clips; it does not automatically identify highlights or create new clips. The downloader formats supported public video links with blurred background fill so the full original frame stays visible.

For another language, upload the video to the Video and VOD Translator. It supports 60 subtitle languages and up to three subtitle tracks. It adds subtitles rather than replacing the original voices. Video translation is priced separately from live-caption memberships.

For viewers: written chat is a separate job

The free Chat Translator browser extension translates incoming written chat and your reply drafts on Twitch, TikTok LIVE, YouTube, Kick and X. It works in a desktop browser and needs no StreamTranslate account, subscription or API key. You decide whether to send a translated reply.

Chat Translator does not translate the stream's spoken audio. For supported browser-tab audio, Watch Party provides live translated captions through Elite. Studio keeps those different inputs and access requirements visible rather than presenting every translation feature as the same thing.

Free tools stay free. Paid work stays clear.

The chat extension, Twitch clip tracker and portrait downloader have free entry points, with the relevant platform and job limits. The OBS plugin download is free, but processing captions through it uses a caption plan or available account hours.

The Free live-caption Plan includes 3 active hours each month and requires a card, with no payment unless you choose to upgrade. Recorded-video translation is $0.50 to start plus $0.01 per second, with a five-second minimum. Browsing Studio does not start a subscription or combine those products into one bill.

If you are not sure where to begin, use the free-tools guide, compare live captions with written-chat translation, or follow the clip-to-portrait workflow.
