Add translated subtitles to your own stream

Choose your audio source
Open Control and follow the desktop setup guide. Use the Control microphone input or the OBS audio plugin route appropriate to your setup.
Select your languages
Choose the spoken language and the translation your audience needs. Start with one clear subtitle line before adding a second language on a plan that supports it.
Add the overlay in OBS
Copy your caption URL into an OBS Browser Source. Match its size to your canvas, place it above your video sources and style the text for contrast.
Record a rehearsal
Speak a short passage while your usual game or camera scene is active. Replay the local recording to check words, placement and timing before broadcasting.

Test the moments where languages change
A bilingual stream needs a rehearsal that sounds like the show. Read an introduction, switch languages as you normally would, then try a quick exchange with a guest. Check the input settings and translation for each section.
- Keep game sound and music out of the selected speech input where possible.
- Try player names, nicknames and common slang; rewrite unclear phrases when necessary.
- Leave space for translations that run longer than the original sentence.
- Replay fast conversation on a phone and watch whether each line remains readable.
Give viewers a short explanation of the language on screen or the extension option. Translated captions can help someone follow the conversation; they do not guarantee audience growth or accurate interpretation of every joke.
