Translate a recorded stream
Make a stream recording easier to follow for viewers who speak another language. StreamTranslate transcribes speech, translates it and renders subtitles onto the video. The video translator works on uploaded recordings; it is separate from live captions and the Twitch clip tracker.
Get your VOD file ready
Start with a video file downloaded from your own Twitch archive or another recording you have permission to use. The translator accepts file uploads, not a Twitch VOD URL. Clip Downloader can prepare supported short public Twitch clips, but its five-minute limit makes it unsuitable for downloading an entire long VOD.
Choose languages and placement
Select the spoken source language and up to three supported subtitle tracks from the 60-language inventory. A track can show the original speech or a translation. Place subtitles away from the game HUD, webcam and other information your viewers need.
Review stream-specific wording
Gaming terms, usernames, background music and several people speaking at once can affect recognition. AI subtitles need review before publication. Check important names and any sensitive or ambiguous lines rather than assuming every rendered subtitle is correct.
