Help more viewers understand a streamer clip

A streamer clip posted as a public video on X can be requested through StreamTranslate Clips. Viewers tag @StreamTranslate and name a caption language; the service returns a separate captioned video reply. This is for recorded moments, not real-time translation of the original broadcast.

Start with where the clip is

If the video is already posted on X, reply to the video post with your translation request. If you have a recording on your computer, use the upload-based Video / VOD Translator instead. A link to a Twitch page is not the same thing as an accessible video attached to an X post, so do not assume every external link can be processed by the X reply workflow.

To find or reformat clips, ClipLab is a separate workspace. Finding a clip, changing its shape, translating its speech and publishing a reply are different tasks.

Ask for the language your viewers read

@StreamTranslate make this video Japanese

Post that as a reply to the public video. The language in your request refers to the subtitles, not a replacement voice. Natural wording works; you do not need to copy an exact command. Check the current language lists to see whether both the source speech and the requested caption language are supported.

For example, an English-speaking streamer's moment can be captioned for Spanish-speaking viewers. The same workflow can translate supported non-English speech into English. It is not limited to English source videos.

Review context, names and jokes

Clips often contain slang, game terminology, usernames and jokes that depend on context. A short segment may omit the setup for a joke or an earlier reference. Automated recognition and translation can miss those details, especially when several people talk over each other.

Watch the result with the original recording available. If a caption changes the meaning, do not present it as a verified quote. Translating a clip does not grant rights to reuse someone else's recording; only request material you are entitled to use.

Recorded clips are not live captions

The X reply appears after the clip has been processed. It does not add captions to the streamer's live Twitch player, and it does not require installing the OBS audio plugin. Those are separate live-caption workflows.

Streamers who want captions while broadcasting should start with the live setup guide or the IRL guide. For this recorded-video workflow, use the public queue to follow the request, then open the delivered reply.
