PRISM Live Mobile translated subtitles

PRISM Live Mobile can use custom RTMP destinations. For StreamTranslate captions, keep your normal video broadcast and add a caption destination where your PRISM plan permits simultaneous outputs, or capture the received audio in OBS.

Open ControlChoose your IRL setup

What you need

  • PRISM Live Mobile on iPhone or Android.
  • Access to Custom RTMP and simultaneous destinations for the phone-only route.
  • A StreamTranslate account with streaming hours, or an OBS receiver with our plugin installed.

Use the account and URLs for the same environment. A staging caption feed does not appear in the released Twitch Extension unless the test channel is deliberately connected to staging.

Choose your caption output

Twitch Extension: each viewer chooses their language and appearance. Keep your Twitch account linked and the Extension active on your channel.

Browser Source: you choose the language, colors and appearance in Control. The captions are included in your video for everyone.

Do not activate two audio capture routes for the same voice. The Browser Source URL is for display; the RTMP URL or OBS plugin supplies audio.

Setup steps

  1. Check destination access

Open PRISM’s channel and platform settings. Verify that your plan permits Twitch and a Custom RTMP destination at the same time. A single-destination plan cannot send both feeds together.

  2. Add the RTMP caption destination

Use the server portion and private key from Control IRL Mode. If PRISM requests separate fields, split the full URL after /live/ and keep the key private.

  3. Leave Twitch enabled

Enable the normal Twitch destination as well as the caption destination. The caption service does not forward your video to Twitch.

  4. Go live and check speech

Start the broadcast and speak normally. Inspect the IRL connection in Control, then check captions on your linked channel as a viewer.

  5. Use OBS where appropriate

For a setup already receiving PRISM’s feed in OBS, attach our audio filter to that received source. Add a Browser Source there if you want captions baked into the video.

Mobile and desktop PRISM are different

PRISM Desktop Browser Source instructions do not automatically describe the mobile interface. Follow the Custom RTMP settings in the mobile app for phone caption capture.

PRISM’s official mobile information currently lists multistreaming as a Plus feature. Confirm the available destination controls before relying on a phone-only dual-output setup.

Changing website language is separate from choosing the speech language or a viewer’s translation. Set your spoken language in StreamTranslate, then test a viewer language while continuing to speak.

Frequently asked questions

Can I replace Twitch with the caption destination?

Not if you want Twitch viewers to see your video. Keep the normal Twitch destination, or use an OBS receiver that handles your broadcast.

Does the desktop setup guide apply unchanged to my phone?

No. PRISM Mobile has its own destination and overlay interface. This guide describes caption capture routes, while the desktop guide describes Browser Sources in desktop software.

Do I need to leave the Control microphone running?

No. In IRL Mode, audio comes from your RTMP destination or the OBS audio plugin. Use Control to change settings; do not start a second browser microphone session.

Who chooses the subtitle language?

With the Twitch Extension, each viewer chooses their own language and appearance. With a Browser Source, you choose the language and appearance in Control and viewers see those captions in your video.

How should I adjust caption timing?

For Twitch Extension viewers, internal testing found 3–5 seconds is the sweet spot. Adjust to your actual video delay. This setting does not delay a Browser Source composited into your broadcast.
