How StreamTranslate Works in OBS
StreamTranslate is a browser source overlay. You paste one URL into OBS Studio as a browser source, and translated subtitles appear on your stream automatically — no plugins, no extensions, no configuration.
- Add your overlay URL as a Browser Source in OBS (1920×1080)
- StreamTranslate listens to your microphone in the cloud
- Translated subtitles appear on your stream in under 500ms
- Works alongside all your existing OBS scenes and sources
Step-by-Step OBS Setup
- Step 1: Open OBS Studio and go to your streaming scene
- Step 2: Click the + button under Sources → Add Browser Source
- Step 3: Paste your StreamTranslate overlay URL (from your dashboard)
- Step 4: Set width to 1920 and height to 1080
- Step 5: Click OK — subtitles will appear when you go live

StreamTranslate works with all modern versions of OBS Studio, including the latest OBS 31+ releases. It also works with Streamlabs OBS and any other OBS-based broadcasting tool.
