Firefox Stream Translation — Real-Time Subtitles on Firefox

Stream translation that works on Firefox. StreamTranslate uses cloud-based Deepgram speech recognition — no Chrome lock-in.

Firefox Stream Translation

Firefox is the second most popular desktop browser, yet Chrome-only stream translation tools like VOXO leave Firefox users unsupported. StreamTranslate is one of the few stream translation tools that works beyond Chrome. Because it processes speech in the cloud via Deepgram Nova-2, your browser is only used for display.

Why Most Tools Require Chrome

Tools like VOXO.live and Stream CC use Chrome built-in Web Speech API — free speech recognition locked to Google Chrome. StreamTranslate does not use browser APIs for speech recognition. Cloud processing removes the browser restriction entirely.

Setup on Firefox

  1. Open streamtranslate.live/control in Firefox
  2. Sign in and select source and target languages
  3. Copy the OBS browser source URL
  4. In OBS, add Browser Source and paste the URL
  5. Go live — subtitles appear in real time
