VOXO states: "This service only works on PC Chrome browser." This is because VOXO relies on Chrome built-in Web Speech API.
StreamTranslate processes speech server-side via advanced AI. Because transcription happens in the cloud, browser choice does not matter. Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari all work identically.
Chrome Web Speech API was built for general-purpose browser use — voice search, dictation. advanced AI was purpose-built for high-accuracy transcription in noisy, real-world environments. It consistently outperforms browser APIs on accuracy benchmarks.

StreamTranslate’s official Twitch extension requires the broadcaster to install, activate and link it, supply audio and start the caption session. Each viewer can choose a caption language. It is separate from a viewer-only browser extension, typed-chat translation and Twitch’s native CC track. Browser Source captions are pixels in the broadcast video and do not give viewers a CC toggle.
