Cloud OBS / OBS plugin
Your phone streams to an OBS that runs in the cloud, not on your computer.
Our plugin runs inside that cloud OBS. It sends a copy of your voice to StreamTranslate, and your captions come back through a browser source. Nothing extra runs on your phone.
Grab your plugin key
Open Control → IRL Mode → Cloud OBS / OBS plugin → Copy stream key. Paste the key into the OBS filter.
Add the filter
In your cloud OBS, right-click your stream audio, then Filters → + → StreamTranslate, and paste your key. The status line counts your audio as you talk. If it says it isn't connected, it names the problem (usually an old key): fix it and press Reconnect.
Add the captions
In your cloud OBS: Sources → + → Browser, then paste your overlay URL from the control page. Set it to 1920×1080 and tick Use custom frame rate at 15 to keep it light.
Turn on IRL mode and go live
On your control page, switch to IRL Mode. You don't press Go Live there, and the page's mic stays off: captions start as soon as the plugin hears you. Keep your control page open on your phone to change languages live.
Turn it off when you're done
Open the StreamTranslate filter settings and press Stop (pause sending audio). Press Reconnect / Test connection to resume. Ending your OBS stream or hiding the filter does not pause it. Reopening OBS starts it again.
Home OBS + phone (ingest)
You're out streaming from your phone, but OBS stays running on your PC at home.
Your phone sends its camera and mic to that home OBS as an ingest (straight from Moblin or IRL Pro, or through a relay like IRLServer). Your home OBS is what goes live on Twitch.
Our plugin sits on the phone feed inside your home OBS, so it captions your voice from the phone, even though you're not at the computer.
Install the plugin on your home PC
Get it for macOS or Windows, then restart OBS.
Mac: quit OBS, open the signed and Apple-notarized .pkg, finish installation, then reopen OBS. The installer may ask for your Mac administrator password.
Windows: extract theobs-streamtranslatefolder intoC:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins. Keep the DLL andcacert.pemtogether, then reopen OBS.Grab your plugin key

Put the filter on your phone's feed
Find the source your phone comes in on (usually a Media Source, like "Moblin SRT"). Right-click it, then Filters → + → StreamTranslate, and paste your key. Put it on the phone feed, not your desk mic. The status line counts your audio as you talk. If it says it isn't connected, it names the problem (usually an old key): fix it and press Reconnect.

Streaming from a PC
Not IRL? Gaming, just chatting, or anything else streamed from your computer.
You don't need the plugin. Keep our control page open in your browser: it listens to your mic and sends captions to an overlay you add to OBS as a browser source.
Open your control page
Go to streamtranslate.live/control, pick your mic, and choose what you speak and what to translate into.
Add the captions to OBS
Copy your overlay URL from the control page. In OBS: Sources → + → Browser, paste it, and set it to 1920×1080.
Go live
Hit Go Live on the control page and keep that tab open while you stream. Hit End Stream when you're done.

Live captions from your phone.
Copy your RTMP URL
Open Twitch Setup or Control → IRL Mode → Copy full RTMP URL. If prompted, press Generate RTMP URL first.
Add it in Moblin
Stop streaming. Enable Show all settings, then open Settings → Streams → your Twitch stream → Multi streaming → Create → URL. Paste the URL and enable this destination. Keep Twitch as your main destination.
Choose your languages
Choose your spoken language in Control or Twitch Setup. For Twitch Extension captions, internal testing found 3–5 seconds is the sweet spot. Adjust caption delay to match your video.
Go live
Press Go Live in Moblin. You can close Control. Choose how your viewers see captions below.

In Control → IRL Mode, press Browser Source: you choose the language. Copy the Browser Source URL, not the RTMP URL.
In Moblin, open Settings → Scenes → Widgets → Create → Browser. Paste the overlay URL and add the widget to your active scene.
Turn Local only off. Set the widget size to match your video, such as 1920 × 1080 for landscape or 1080 × 1920 for portrait. Leave the browser rendering mode at its default.
In Control, set Translate To and your caption appearance. With Pro, you can also enable a second language. Changes apply while live.
Caption delay here affects Twitch Extension viewers only, not the Browser Source. The Browser Source works directly in Moblin without OBS.

Larix Broadcaster
Video to Twitch. Audio-only to StreamTranslate.
Add StreamTranslate
Open Control or Twitch Setup → IRL Mode → Larix Broadcaster → Copy full RTMP URL.
Back in Larix, open Connections → + → Connection. Name it StreamTranslate, paste our full URL, choose Audio only, then Save.
Enable both connections
Make sure Twitch and StreamTranslate both have check marks. Leave global audio-only capture off so Twitch still gets your video. Connections cannot be edited while live.
Go live
Choose your spoken language in StreamTranslate, then start streaming in Larix. Twitch Extension viewers choose their own subtitle language.
Internal testing found 1–2 seconds is the sweet spot. Adjust to match your video. Caption delay affects Twitch Extension viewers only.
Optional: browser-source captions
Keep the StreamTranslate Audio only connection enabled; it supplies the audio for captions.
Using this browser URL with the Twitch Extension can show two sets of captions.
PRISM Mobile
Link Twitch and add StreamTranslate. PRISM Plus is required for multi-streaming.
Connect Twitch
In PRISM, add Twitch as a destination and log in.
Copy your Stream URL and key
Open Control or Twitch Setup → IRL Mode → PRISM Mobile. Copy the Stream URL and Stream key separately.
Add Custom RTMP
In PRISM, add a Custom RTMP destination. Paste the Stream URL in the top field and the Stream key in the bottom field. Save.
Go live
Enable both Twitch and StreamTranslate, then press Go live.
Optional: browser-source captions
Using this browser URL with the Twitch Extension can show two sets of captions.
Browser-source captions are part of the video, so every viewer sees the same language. The Twitch Extension is separate: each viewer chooses their own language. When using both, set your browser-source captions to Top in Control so they do not cover the extension captions at the bottom.
PRISM sends an additional audio/video feed. We extract the audio for captions. This uses extra upload bandwidth.
TVU Go
Keep Twitch enabled and add StreamTranslate with RTMP Push.
Copy your Stream URL and key
Open Control or Twitch Setup → IRL Mode → TVU Go. Copy each field separately.
Add RTMP Push
In TVU Go, open Social Platforms → RTMP(s) Push. Paste the Stream URL in the top field. It ends in
/live, with no trailing slash. Paste the entire stream key, includingstpk_, in the bottom field. Save.Enable both and go live
Turn on Twitch and RTMP Push, then go live. If you changed the destination while live, end the broadcast and restart.
Check captions
Speak and check Live from RTMP in Control, then choose a caption language in your Twitch Extension.
Optional: browser-source captions
Using this browser URL with the Twitch Extension can show two sets of captions.
Browser-source captions are part of the video, so every viewer sees the same language. The Twitch Extension is separate: each viewer chooses their own language. When using both, set your browser-source captions to Top in Control so they do not cover the extension captions at the bottom.
For viewer-selected captions only, leave the TVU web overlay off and use the Twitch Extension.
Tested with TVU Unlimited. TVU sends an additional audio/video feed; we extract the audio for captions. This uses extra upload bandwidth.
Other encoders
Use a custom RTMP output, or capture the audio in receiving OBS.
Keep your usual stream destination
Leave Twitch or your existing video destination enabled.
Add captions
For an additional RTMP output, open Control → IRL Mode → Other encoders. Copy the Stream URL and Stream Key into your encoder. If it accepts one full URL, join them with a slash.
For a receiving OBS, select Cloud OBS / OBS plugin, copy the stream key and add the audio filter to the received audio source.
Choose your captions
Use the Twitch Extension for viewer-selected languages, or a Browser Source for captions you control.
CX Live (Android)
Stream → Stream settings → Destination → Add destination. Enter a name and your home or cloud OBS receiver’s full RTMP ingest URL, then press Save.
Install the StreamTranslate OBS plugin on the receiving OBS machine and add its audio filter to the incoming phone source. In Control, choose IRL Mode → Cloud OBS / OBS plugin and copy your stream key into the filter.
Use the Twitch Extension for viewer-selected languages, or a Browser Source for captions you control. Browser overlays display captions; they do not capture your phone audio.

Receive your BELABOX feed in home or cloud OBS, then add the StreamTranslate audio filter. BELABOX Cloud relays the feed to OBS; it does not run the filter itself.

Open Destinations → Add → Custom. Paste your full StreamTranslate RTMP URL into Stream URL and leave Stream Key blank, or split the two fields. Start your server and enable both your normal destination and StreamTranslate.
Custom RTMP guideStreamrun
Add a custom RTMP destination to a Standard Output Stream. Keep Twitch enabled too. For Twitch Enhanced Broadcasting, use a Splitter and a separate Standard output for StreamTranslate. Press Run, then enable both destinations.

Install the plugin on the cloud server running OBS, not your laptop. Ask your provider if installation is restricted, then follow the Cloud OBS / OBS plugin guide.
These routes depend on your encoder and provider. An extra RTMP output uses additional bandwidth. Audio-only applies only when that output supports it. Native SRT/SRTLA ingest is not available at our RTMP address.
Bonded streaming (SRT / SRTLA)
Bonding sends your stream over several connections at once, like 5G, a second SIM, and wifi.
If one drops, the others keep you live.
Our caption endpoint accepts RTMP. For SRT or SRTLA today, receive your feed with your existing relay or OBS, then use the OBS audio plugin. Direct bonded ingest will be evaluated separately.
FAQ
Does this change my video or my stream?
The OBS plugin sends only an audio copy. Moblin multi-streaming sends your video directly to Twitch and an additional audio/video feed to our caption relay. We extract its audio for captions; we do not forward that feed to Twitch.
Does it drain my battery or data?
On a cloud OBS setup nothing extra runs on your phone. Moblin multi-streaming adds an audio/video upload and uses extra mobile data and battery. Both setups need an internet connection.
How much delay is there?
Captions usually land a second or two after each sentence.
Can I switch languages mid-stream?
Yes. Open your control page on your phone and change it. It applies live, no restart.
Why do I need the captions overlay as well as the plugin?
OBS doesn't let an audio filter draw on your video. The plugin sends us your audio, and the overlay browser source is what shows the captions.
How are my hours counted?
Your account's normal usage rules still apply. Hiding the filter or ending your OBS stream does not stop the audio feed. Press Stop in the filter settings to pause; Reconnect resumes. Reopening OBS starts it again.
The filter says it isn't connected.
The status line names the problem. Usually the key was regenerated since you pasted it. Paste the current key from IRL Mode on your control page and press Reconnect.
